Audiofile Magazine Review & Audiobook Reviewer Choice Award Winner! Listeners who enjoy cozy mysteries are familiar with smart felines who assist in solving crimes. This genre has brought some fine narrators to the attention of audiobook enthusiasts. Meghan Kelly is one such narrator who animates both human and feline characters. This story features Ellie and her special-needs daughter, Evie, who run a cat shelter in rural Texas. Together, they get caught up in a murder investigation. They are aided by a talking cat, Belladonna, who speaks with a vaguely English accent and an imperious manner. The mystery is satisfying, and there are some suspenseful moments, bits of humor, and a cast of both detestable and likable small-town personalities. Kelly is the right narrator for this cozy paranormal mystery. Her vocal prowess almost outshines the story.
FIVE STAR REVIEW- TRULY DELIGHTFUL Bartender Destiny Maganti’s search for a new manager for the Enchanted Coast Resort’s Tiki Bar isn’t going well at all! And NOW the body of a resort guest has been found on the beach! The Expansion Committee is going to lose their minds if Destiny doesn’t get to the bottom of THIS debacle fast! “High Tide Homicide” is a delightfully charming, throughly enjoyable cozy mystery! Stuffed to the brim with delightfully entertaining characters and featuring a smooth flowing mysterious and engaging plot, my interest was held and my puzzle solving skill challenged! I loved every ingeniously original character! THIS is a group I would love to be a part of. I absolutely had a favorite though, my heart was completely stolen by a sassy Fox named Tempest! No spoilers, listen and see if you agree! I also have to say that I was INSTANTLY drawn into this intriguing plot! Easy to understand, easy to follow, and throughly entertaining! Both the characters and the scene setting were brought to life by beautiful, clear and vibrant narration making this production a five star listen across the board. I loved it!
Casting Director- OrangeSky Audio "Meghan is magnificent for Romantic Comedy because she has this stunning comedic timing mixed with a natural feel for sarcasm"
Audiofile Magazine- Meghan Kelly enthusiastically vocalizes Maya, Nick, and their friends and family in this slow-burn romance. Friends since childhood who lost touch after college, they reconnect in their hometown in their late twenties. Once they do, their friends and family insist the two belong together; each denies the possibility while also secretly starting to acknowledge their attraction. Both characters' feelings of attraction and angst are rehashed throughout the story and are overdramatized in the narration as well. Kelly smoothly handles all the characters, and listeners can follow the plot without confusion however irritated they may become with adults who are frequently acting like teenagers.
Brian's Book Blog- Excellent, Gritty and Brutal- Sometimes I start a book and think I know what I’m getting into. Sometimes I’m close, and others, I’m way off. With Snapped, I was somewhere in the middle. Sutter could string me along for a while, but as the book climaxed, I had a good guess about where it was going and why. But I still didn’t see a lot of what happened to come. Snapped was one of those books that, as the pacing and speed kept picking up, it was harder and harder to put down. I feel like Sutter was trying to strike that balance between introducing Jade in the fastest way possible and leaving some things unanswered. A great example is a phone call late in the book to her former partner, revealing another revelation about Jade. It made the intrigue around here almost match that of the serial killer they were hunting. I won’t go into too much detail, but the first killer in these books was fascinating. I feel almost to the point of being “too much,” but then again. I didn’t have what she did happen to me so I wouldn’t know. A few times when she was going through the motions of each killing, I thought, “don’t any of these people have cameras? Wouldn’t some random corner catch a glimpse of her? That took me out of the story a bit (mainly because it sounded like some of these homes were really nice). But, if you can put that aside — the story was great, the serial killer aspect/character was fascinating, and Jade is someone that I feel I won’t have figured out even after a few stories. These are all things that I like in a story like this. Overall, Snapped grabbed and held my attention throughout. It was a gritty and sometimes brutal thriller. I want to know more about Jade, and I hope that Sutter and Kelly work together in the future. Meghan Kelly was able to bring both the killer and Jade to life. I thought her portrayal of Jade was perfect – basically becoming Jade. But I also think she nailed the “certainty” of the killer too—a challenging feat to accomplish.
Not Your Average Engagement by Cassie Mae FIVE STAR REVIEW Meghan Kelly is one I will listen to read the phone book. She has a way of tuning into the characters, gives them each a voice and personality that was true to life. I laughed and teared up, was frustrated and in love as Kelly gives us all the nuances and inflections of the characters. It's a fantastic performance.
Dragon's Passion by Selena Scott FIVE STAR REVIEW Meghan Kelly is such a talented narrator. She draws you in as she portrays the emotions and personalities of these characters. She gives the men and women distinctive voices and holds your attention throughout the story. She has become one of my favorite narrators.
Drake's Flame by Melody Novak FIVE STAR REVIEW The narration however was five stars all the way. I loved Meghan Kelly's performance as usual as she always shows good emotion and has an overall tone that keeps me listening and far from bored. Gregory Salinas I've been hearing more and more lately and love his voice more every time. He had multiple POV and tones to show in this book and didn't disappoint.
Off Limits by L.A. Cotton FIVE STAR REVIEW The fabulous narration, Meghan Kelly and Matthew Maddux are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They bring the characters to life, humanize them, give each their own distinct voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Their portrayal of each character was spot on, they took each role and made it their own sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Meghan Kelly’s played Lily’s role with perfection and Matthew Maddux did the same for Caiden. Both are great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all of the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen
